Emergency.lu is a public-private partnership by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Luxembourg in collaboration with a consortium of Luxembourg companies and organisations: SES, HITEC and Luxembourg Air Rescue. It is designed to help the humanitarian and civil protection community in the field to (re-) establish telecommunication services and support effective communication and coordination of first responders. Emergency.lu can be deployed by the Government of Luxembourg anywhere in the world within hours of a natural catastrophe or man-made crisis. To help sort these challenges, Relief Applications developed a web platform called Warehouse Management System (WMS) to be used by warehouse operators and managers alike. The solution entailed the development of both a web and mobile application to allow such organization to manage stock in real-time: keep track of their stock in different warehouses through movement creation, project and user management and creation of visual dashboards. The mobile app also allows users to work more quickly by accessing data through QR codes scan.
Traceablity: Balance between performance & history depth
Exactitude : To make sure entered data is correct
Low network capability in certain areas
Data links: each stock item is linked to a history entry; history entries are linked
Validation system : only allowed users can validate a movement or an article sheet
Offline mode for the mobile app; data is synchronized when good internet connection is available
